Modifications and Adaptations to Cargo Boxes, Semi-Trailers, and Containers
The structural versatility of flatbed, semi-trailer, and container equipment allows for a variety of applications in mobile units.
Trucks, semi-trailers, and containers converted into mobile units are most commonly requested for stationary projects such as mobile bank branches and mobile real estate services. They are also used as attachments for converted trucks, such as mobile stores and boutiques, traveling courses and training programs, and other projects.
Road-based attachments stand out for the conversion of mobile units, mainly due to their ample space and the wide variety of manufacturers on the market. The vast majority of converted cargo boxes and containers fall into the categories of Customer Service, Healthcare, Showrooms, and Training.
The structural versatility of box trucks, semi-trailers, and containers in mobile unit applications is exceptionally diverse; they can include an extension module to expand the usable operational service area. These units feature energy autonomy via a generator set, air conditioning, and a hydraulic system with water tanks.
Road vehicles are classified as either body-on-frame vehicles—which are mounted directly on the truck’s chassis and do not have their own axles or chassis—or trailers and semi-trailers, which are complete structures with their own chassis, axles, suspension, and brakes, and are coupled to the truck. Containers, on the other hand, are classified by size: 20 feet (capacity of 21.6 metric tons or 33 cubic meters) and 40 feet (26.5 metric tons and 66.7 cubic meters).
